About

Great food in great company.

Sally & Boyd welcomes you to The Bennet Arms pub, located in Rougham, near the beautiful Bury St Edmunds.

We took over the pub in 2019 and have loved getting to know the locals and serving the community. We’ve created a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all to enjoy a drink or a meal among family and friends.

History of the Bennet Arms

The Bennet Family lived at Rougham Hall during the 19th century. The last family member to own Rougham Hall was Captain Geoffrey Bennet, who was the winning jockey of the 1923 grand national, riding Sgt Murphy.

Sadly the house was the victim of a stray bomb in WW2 which was intended for the nearby airfield.

Pub life

As well as serving delicious, home cooked, traditional pub food. We have a large garden with an outside bbq shack and large children’s play area, as well as also a generous car park. Outside bar and Marquee.

We can cater for all sorts of parties such as birthdays, christenings, wakes, weddings, baby showers. We also have regular live bands, DJs, themed nights such as fireworks, beer festivals, pub quizzes and bingo nights.
